Broadway's Best...In The West: Season Four!
The Palm Springs Cultural Center is proud to present Season Four of the acclaimed Broadway’s Best...in the West concert series. Our February 13th, 2027 Concert features Tony® Nominee Derek Klena!
Derek Klena can currently be seen on the viral barnstorming exhibition baseball team, The Savannah Bananas, where he leads the team both vocally and as their pitcher. The Savannah Bananas’s performances blend sports entertainment with high attendance events and a massive digital entertainment presence.
Derek starred on Broadway in Alanis Morissette’s critically acclaimed new musical JAGGED LITTLE PILL, for which he received a Tony Award Nomination for Best Featured Actor. Derek will next be seen on the HBO Max series, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS: ORIGINAL SIN, a reboot of the popular original.
On stage, Derek originated the role of Dmitry in the adaptation of the animated movie ANASTASIA. He first broke onto the NYC theatre scene in the 2012 Off-Broadway revival of CARRIE, where he was quickly noticed and scooped up by Oscar, Grammy, and Tony winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul to originate the lead role of “Eddie Birdlace” in DOGFIGHT. He then made his Broadway debut as Fiyero in the 10th anniversary company of WICKED and followed that up by originating the role of “Michael Johnson” in Jason Robert Brown’s THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY.
On television, Derek had a memorable recurring arc as “DJ Fingablast” on Tina Fey and Robert Carlock’s Netflix hit UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT. Other TV credits include a recurring arc on CBS’s THE CODE and BLUE BLOODS, Showtime’s CITY ON A HILL, ABC’s QUANTICO, NBC’s LAW AND ORDER: SVU, and The CW’s TOMORROW PEOPLE and THE CARRIE DIARIES.
